Condition report
Canvas relined. Minor frame abrasions, upper left and off top border, otherwise paint surface is sound. Ultraviolet reveals traces of retouching to foreground, to trees, upper right and upper left, a few flecks beneath castle. An opaque varnish prevents further reading. Held in a plaster gilt frame with old marks and scratches.
