Condition report
Canvas relined. Extensive craquelure pattern throughout consistent with a work of this age; traces of dirt and uneven varnish; a few scattered, minor surface abrasions. Ultraviolet reveals extensive retouching to sitter’s face, arms and chest, further to areas of dress and background; some areas obscured by opaque varnish. Held in a later painted frame in fair condition.
