Condition report
Canvas relined. Traces of dirt to paint surface and an uneven varnish; craquelure throughout consistent with a work of this age. Ultraviolet reveals retouching and infilling to sitter’s face, arms and dress - an uneven varnish prevents further examination. Held in a later plaster gilt frame in fair condition.
