With x-frame support, 70cm wide; 108cm high
Estimate: | £50 - £80 |
Condition report:
The chair does recline by press the brass button to the side of the seat rail and a ratchet mechanism slides the seat forward and the back back. This is a little awkward but functional.
There have been a few repairs, notably an additional section of timber to the underside of the seat, probably due to wear from the sliding mechanism, replacement hinges to the seat back and probably replacement horizontal oak stretchers to the underside and base of seat back.
Upholstery is later, with wear and dust commensurate with use and age.
The frame with the inevitable knocks, scuffs and scratches commensurate with age and use. Various dents to the upright side of seat back frame, and some losses around the back of the padded arm rests, probably where previous nailing has been removed and replaced. The one side with a tear to the veneer. Please see additional photographs at www.belllmans.co.uk
