Frieda Hughes is the daughter of poets Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath. She studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design before moving to Australia where the landscape and wildlife provided early inspiration for her painting and poetry. Hughes returned to London in 1998 before settling in Mid-Wales in 2004 where she rescues and paints owls. Along with her artwork and poetry collections Hughes has published seven children's books as well as adult fiction and non-fiction.
