The impressive case with a shallow dome and twin sphere finials, above an arched glazed door, flanked by a fluted corinthian column to each side, the sides each a pierced grille panel, the 8in arched silvered and engraved dial with three subsidiaries to the arch for regulation, strike/silent and chime on eight bells/Cambridge Chime, finely pierced hour hand and spade minute hand, the substantial three train chain fusee movement chiming on eight bells and striking the hour on a coiled gong, anchor escapement

Condition report

WIth original brass key.  The case is in good original condition, although the pin from the lower hinge on the door is missing.  There is a shrinkage crack to the lower part of teh right hand column.  The movement appears in good order but will require a service.
