A RARE CHINESE CLOISONNE ENAMEL BEAKER VASE, GU

Probably 16th century
Of archaic form, the turquoise ground decorated around the the trumpet neck with four arched lappets enclosing flowers against a dark blue ground, beneath the rim with purple grapes and tendrils, the central section and flared foot with further alternating panels of flowers and grapes separated by gilt flanges, 24.5cm high. There is an area of restoration to the enamel directly beneath the rim, approx. 12cm length by 2cm at deepest point. Some small patches of restoration beneath the rim. Some restoration to the enamels along the top and bottom rim of the foot section. Some wear to the gilding overall. There is no evidence that it once had a taller footrim
