The process of crushing grapes, known as pigeage, is part of the maceration method used in traditional wine-making, and  typically carried out in vats by barefoot participants.  


Condition report:

Wear and losses to paint and wood, particularly to the upper rim, consistent with age and use. 

The handles with three screw threads with square nuts. The screw threads exposed. These could be later in date. Please see images.
