A DIAMOND OVAL CLUSTER RING

Mounted with the principal rose cut diamond at the centre, in a surround of variously cut diamonds, probably 18th century, unmarked, ring size N, gross weight 4.5 gms, with a later case

Diameter of top of ring 14.1mm. Wear resulting in hole to the back of the underside of the ring, shank very thin at the back, the principal rose diamond has a significant surface reaching fracture inclusion.  The two rows of surrounding diamonds are a mixture of cuts, including several with rectangular table facets, some rose cuts and some un-cut.  The majority has a few internal inclusions, some of which are surface reaching.  Ring is heavily tarnished, top is silver set, bottom may have been gilt in the past.
