Engraved all over with foliage, the shaped handle above a circular glazed compass dial, with four turned finials, above turned uprights, the front and sides with engraved panels, the front with 2 1/4in circular silvered dial, blued steel moon hands, the sides each with an inset mother-of-pearl thermometer scale, on turned bun feet, the reverse with a hinged door, signed to the inside Howell James & Co, Regent Street, London, the movement with platform lever escapement and thumb-piece for hand adjustment

With a brass key. The clock ticks. In good condition, probably recently cleaned. The paint to the numerals on the dial appears to have been refreshed and they are not quite so well defined as should be? There is a scratch between the III & IV chapter.
