AN UNUSUAL VICTORIAN BRASS STRIKING SKELETON CLOCK

Retailed by S & J Tutin, Nottingham, circa 1855

The well pierced frame surmounted by three tapering spires, six screwed tapering pillars, pierced silvered dial with blued steel hands, signed on a silvered ribbon below the VI, with twin chain fusée movement and anchor escapement, on ebonised plinth under a glass oval dome

The clock 38cm high

On its ebonised base and glass dome 44cm high overall 


S & J. Tuttin are recorded working in Nottingham in 1855.


CONDITION REPORT

The pendulum is associated.  With a steel winding key.  The movement requires a clean.  There is a repair to the pallet cock at the back.  The central spire has been repaired at the base.  The top of the central A joint is repaired.  The plinth may be associated.  The dome is intact, in good condition.
