The case with an arched moulded pediment, above a pair of spiral-turned uprights between an arched glazed door, the trunk with an arched door between quarter-spiral-turned uprights, on a base on swept feet, the 12 in. arched brass dial with silvered roundel Tempus Fugit to the arch, pierced brass spandrels, silvered chapter ring enclosing a seconds subsidiary and matted centre, the substantial three train movement chiming the quarters on eight bells and striking the hour on a gong (mounted on the case backboard)
