The 29 ½ in. cream painted dial with Roman chapters and five-minute markers, pierced steel hands, signed on the apron below, with winged ears, the trunk door applied with an overpainted print of a man and a woman, she holding a fiddle, a dog at their feet, with shaped base, the movement with anchor escapement

151 cm high

See Michael Pearson, KENT Clocks & Clockmakers, Mayfield 1997, p. 146.

Condition Report:

1 winding key. 1 pendulum

The timepiece is in good overall condition.  The dial decoration has been restored.  The hands are a recent replacement.  The movement appears to be clean and was functioning prior to consignment.  The weight appears to be a modern replacement, although of the right type.  The lacquer decoration appears ‘dry’ in places and some of the gilded decoration is lost.  A charming item.
