A highly rare example of coachbuilt elegance, this 1962 Silver Cloud II is clothed in James Young’s celebrated SCT100 Touring Limousine bodywork — one of the most refined and formal postwar Rolls-Royce designs. Built on a long-wheelbase chassis and fitted with a division screen, this example (chassis LCC39) retains its original engine (LC38C) and was originally registered SCT100.
Having been in long-term storage, the car has been recently seen running, though it will require mechanical attention and a thorough recommissioning before returning to regular road use. The paintwork is in poor condition and would benefit from restoration, but the panel fit and integrity remain consistent with James Young’s typically high standards. The interior appears largely complete and offers the patina of age rather than modern refurbishment.
With its aluminium coachwork, chauffeur division, and matching numbers, this car represents a rare opportunity to acquire a Silver Cloud II of considerable historical and collector significance. Whether preserved as a period survivor or restored to its former grandeur, LCC39 is a true coachbuilt limousine of the highest order — and one of very few Touring Limousines by James Young known to exist today.
