Canvas relined; extensive craquelure pattern to paint surface, scattered surface abrasions and dirt; stretcher bar marks to each border; ultraviolet reveals infilling to flesh tones to hands, chest and face; more recent retouching to table, lower left and frame abrasions, lower right; held in a later plaster gilt frame with loss to gilt work.
