Condition Report
The canvas has been relined. There are three patches to the reverse. The paint surface is dirty with a discoloured varnish; thin paint in places and extensive traces of craquelure, stable. Evidence of repairs corresponding with aforementioned patches visible to the naked eye. Ultraviolet reveals retouching to repairs in the sky and sails, some further to figures in the foreground.
