Condition Report

The canvas has been relined and extended along the lower border; the join has separated and is visible to the naked eye.  The relining has come away from the stretcher along the lower border, and approximately ten inches up the lower left and right border.  Scattered surface abrasions and areas of paint loss throughout revealing the original canvas.  Surface staining and discoloured varnish.  Multiple layers of varnish prevent reading under ultraviolet light.
