The present work was painted in the the back garden of 'The Pilgrim's Rest', a medieval inn opposite the gatehouse of Battle Abbey.  This work has been requested for potential inclusion in a forthcoming exhibition; please contact Bellmans painting department for further details.

Condition report

Original canvas.  The paint surface is in good condition throughout, ultraviolet reveals no sign of retouching.  Held in a later composite frame in fair condition.
