Condition report
The canvas has been relined. Surface abrasions around the sitter’s shoulder and a small fleck of paint loss next to the sitter’s eye and just off the lower border. Ultraviolet light reveals an uneven varnish but no obvious signs of retouching. Held in a later plaster gilt frame in fair condition.
