A GERMAN FAIENCE TANKARD

With pewter mounted hinged cover engraved with the initials `S.R' and the date `1739', painted with two buildings in a landscape with `sponged' trees, overall height 23.5cm high

Loss to the lower half of the pewter mount around the upper handle terminal. Glaze chip to upper handle, approx. 1cm square. Haircrack to the rim of the interior which doesn't extend through to the outer surface
