A PAIR OF GEORGE III INLAID MAHOGANY SLOPE TOP SERPENTINE FRONTED KNIFE BOXES

Condition report: 

Overall, a few chips and scuffs consistent with use and age. 

Shrinkage crack to the back edge of one. Further shrinkage to the surrounding edges of the internal divisions to one.

Interior inlay a little crude in areas, notably around the divisions for the cutlery. 

Wear to the openings for the hook locks. 

Metal mounts for key holes and loop handles with wriggle work engraving around the edge, except for one. 

Inlaid stringing and star motif to the inside of the lids.
