Estimate: | £150 - £200 |
The painted arched 12in dial with date aperture and subsidiary seconds dial, signed 'CHRISTMAS YARMOUTH', with a twin-train movement striking on a bell, with two weights, pendulum and winding key, overall height 208cm
Condition report:
Case:
Case repolished at some point recently, however please note the following apparent issues:
The case:
Some old worm to the hood.
The scroll pediment is loose.
The brass spheres maybe not be original.
The right hand moulding below the hood on the trunk needs repositioning.
Crack just above the right hand side of the trunk door.
Slight warp to the door, which effects the upper half of the trunk door.
Both side panels on the plinth are split.
Various scuffs and marks commensurate with use and age.
The movement:
The movement may not be original to case. However, the dial is attractively painted with the original surface. Some in painting to the centre.
The movement has been cleaned fairly recently but will require a some work to the pendulum suspension block which is bent and has previously been replaced.
We are unable to guarantee that the movement is in working order or complete, however, there appears to be no missing parts.
2 lead weights, winding key, key and pendulum.
