A PAIR OF VICTORIAN SMALL GILTWOOD CONSOLES

Condition report: 

Overall, decorative.

 Numerous shrinkage cracks in areas, commensurate with age and use, together with small chips and rubbed areas some of which have been concealed by later overall gilt decoration. 

The gilt surface is quite bright, and not original with further patches of even later gilt decoration to patch over repairs. 

Further repairs visible to the undersides, with later blocks and composite to support the front frieze of one console. The other with a side frieze  pinned to secure and the other side slightly loose, where a thin crack runs along below the moulded edge 

Numerous small chips and scuffs to the edges of the marble tops with dirt to the edges and further marks, commensurate with use and age.
