Half title, additional engraved allegorical title, letterpress title printed in red and black with engraved coat-of-arms, 3 engraved maps, one folding, 87 fine engraved plates or bird's-eye-views, almost all double-page or folding, and including the 6 double-page heraldic plates at the end, one engraved map in the text (stain at lower margin throughout, not affecting text or illustration, the margin of Z3 torn and repaired without loss, one plate torn at centrefold without loss, a few rust spots, some light mainly marginal spotting and staining). FINELY BOUND in elaborate contemporary panelled calf gilt, the covers with blind-stamped arabesque centrepieces, the spine in seven compartments with morocco lettering-piece (rubbed, some surface cracking, a few inconspicuous old repairs). Provenance: A. W. van Reigersberg Versluys (old signature on half title). This copy includes the leaves, lacking from some copies, headed "Besluyt Tot de Zeelandsche Cronyk" at the end (?printed in 1704) announcing the second part of the work, which never materialised. With a large folding engraved map from another work ("Nieuwe Paskaart Van Oostende tot den Hoek van Schouwen", dated 1774, lightly browned) loosely-inserted. FIRST EDITION.
