FINELY BOUND in original polished old-style tree calf gilt by Birdsall, the spine lettered in gilt, marbled endpapers, uncut and unopened, original glassine wrapper (part of the glassine wrapper lacking). Provenance: pencil addition of the word "that" to the second, or possibly the third, line of the first sonnet (?by the author). A FINE COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION. NUMBER 73 OF 250 COPIES SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR AND CHARLES SIGRIST IN THE COLOPHON. The colophon states: "These Sonnets by Cyril Edwards [signed] engraved in 1934 by Charles Sigrist [signed] on copper, were printed from the original unfaced 13 plates by Frank E. Seary, London, W.1. on hand made paper by W. S. Hodgkinson & Sons, and bound by Birdsall. Of 250 copies this is No. 73." We have been unable to establish any biographical information about the poet.
