Contemporary green half morocco gilt, gilt edges (extremities rubbed, some staining). Provenance: FROM THE COLLECTION OF THE DUKE & DUCHESS OF WINDSOR (Sotheby's sale, 1997, with sale bookplate). With C. T. Atkinson's The South Wales Borderers 24th Foot 1689-1937 (Cambridge, "Printed for the Regimental History Committee at the University Press", 1937, 4to, plates, illustrations, maps and charts, original green morocco gilt, FROM THE COLLECTION OF THE DUKE & DUCHESS OF WINDSOR (Sotheby's sale, 1997, with sale bookplate and with "La Cröe" and small Royal Ducal crest labels on the front pastedown). The second book would almost certainly have been presented to the Duke of Windsor by the Colonel of the The South Wales Borderers 24th Foot, Major-General Llewellyn Isaac Gethin Morgan-Owen, in 1937 or 1938.
