ALBUM - A 4to album (225 x 185mm), on c.80 leaves, dating largely from the second quarter of the 19th-century, containing original watercolours of flowers and butterflies and one of a cat playing with a ball of string in padded relief, pencil topographical scenes including views of Ramsgate harbour, Eddystone lighthouse and Worcester Cathedral, and portraits, including a pen-and-ink study of Walter Scott with two dogs, inscribed [possibly in Scott's hand], "Yours truly, Walter Scott", and another of Samuel Rogers, various poetical quotations, some extensive, bound in 19th-century dark green morocco gilt, marbled endpapers (rubbed and scuffed). Provenance: "Marianne" (name stamped in gilt on upper cover).
