SOMMER, Giorgio (1834-1914, photographer) [?] & others. A collection of 87 original mounted photographs of Italy by Giorgio Sommer, and possibly others, mostly views of Rome, but also a number of Naples, Vesuvius, statuary and Old Master paintings, the last photograph colour-tinted, many of the photographs with printed captions beneath, the photographs approximately 210 x 260mm., mounted on thick blue card, hinged throughout, and contained in an attractive contemporary oblong 4to vellum album elaborately decorated in gilt, titled "Italia" on the upper cover, red edges (joints split), the photographs dating from c.1860-80.
