Half title, 18 plates, some folding and some printed in colours, illustrations, tables, 30-pages of publisher's advertisements at the end (a few tears without loss, some very light mainly marginal spotting and staining). Original grey-blue cloth lettered in gilt (rubbed and scuffed, corners bumped). Provenance: Foyles (old bookseller's label on front pastedown). Please note that the list of plates has some eccentricities, with, for instance, plates VIII and VIIIa "annexed" (sic) to plate I, resulting in some variation in plate counts for this work. Rest assured, the present copy is complete.
