ALBUM – An oblong 4to (266 x 360mm) photograph album containing c. 170 mounted photographs, mostly topographical, including views of “Aqueduct Road, Rio de Janeiro”, Venice, Vienna, including interiors of “Schwindegasse No. 6”, views of Schönbrunn Palace and processions, Dresden, Stralsund, Berlin, Potsdam and Innsbruck, photographs dated 1885-87, various sizes, bound in contemporary black half morocco. Provenance: “Christmas 1885. Harriet Messenger from Caroline F. Leveson Gower” (calligraphy in red and black on a presentation leaf inserted at the front). With a collection of loose photographs of Venice, including 4 by Paolo Salviati and 3 by Carlo Ponti, and a framed photograph captioned “Pietro Vanucci, called Perugino. Photographed by R. Fenton.
