					The image of the skeleton with roses was originally conceived by a late Victorian artist, Edmund J. Sullivan, who illustrated the Persian
poem ‘The Rubaiyat’ by Omar Khayyam. Stanley Mouse collaborated with Alton
Kelley to use the image to incorporate it into the poster for the 1966 Grateful
Dead and the Oxford Circle concert at the Avalon Ballroom, San Francisco. The image became highly iconic.
