Martin Sharp, an Australian artist working in Britain, who's significant contribution was key among counter-culture artists of this period. He designed the covers for radical underground magazine ‘Oz', produced for its London publication in 1967. Sharp, one of the founders (the magazine lasting until 1973), created a strong graphic identity using organic swirling and psychedelic motifs. In this instance, he incorporated vicious looking teeth and mouth that reflected the satirical bite of the magazine’s purpose.
