Condition Report
Figures outside a tavern - canvas has been laid on to board; Minor frame abrasions to left and upper edge; horizontal stretcher mark off upper border; paint surface is in good overall condition; Ultraviolet reveals a few scattered patches of retouching in the sky; under glass and held in a plaster gilt frame with some chips to gilt work.
The Old Mill - Original canvas, which is slightly loose; faint stretcher marks; varnish is slightly discoloured and light surface dirt; pinholes to four corners; ultraviolet light reveals retouching to lower right border and added signature fluoresces. Held in a composite frame with some losses to mouldings.
