Comprising; two Whiskey, Sherry, Burgundy, Port, White Wine and Madeira with a chain, each of oval form, the top with a figure seated on a barrel, differing marks (some marks rubbed and six chains lacking), combined weight 53 gms
Estimate: | £250 - £450 |
Hammer price: | £1,100 |
Condition report: with the Madeira label the top of the beaker is present but appears to be absent for all the other labels. This is also the only label to have a chain. All other chains are missing. Madeira otherwise looks to be in good condition, the chain is possibly a replacement. Makers mark to Madeira is JT. The other six labels generally are a bit rubbed with some loss of definition to the marks at the backs. Maker’s mark for these six is believed to be BT although there is some variation of this. Engraving if the names of the drinks is a bit crude. White wine appears to have been split in the past, more visible at the back than the front.
