Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.
The emblematic devices cast on to this fire-back connect it to the Pelham family, whose badge was a buckle, and together with the initials T.P it can be narrowed down to Sir Thomas Pelham Bt. (1597-1654) of Halland, Sussex. It is also rare to have five pairs of badges.
