Of circular form with raised intertwining organic forms, stamped to the underside ‘MADE IN ENGLAND ENGLISH PEWTER 044’, 25.5cm diameter; and an Art Nouveau WMF pewter coaster or bowl, circa 1905, with stylised bird finials, stamped to the underside WMF flanked by a B and OX, 10cm wide

Archibald Knox designed this Art Nouveau ‘Celtic’ inspired dish for the Silver Studio in about 1903.  Knox sold designs through the Silver Studio from the late nineteenth century onwards.


Condition report: 

Overall inevitable scuffs, and minor  scratches to the underside of the dish, with some marks and tarnishing to the dish commensurate with wear, use and age.

The smaller container/vessel/ pot is with a small dents to the rim either side of one of the raised nodules (see images) and a dent to the bottom edge. See photos. 

Also, a likely repaired area to the join of the base and side, see extra images. Otherwise slight inevitable scuffs and marks commensurate with wear, use and age, particularly to the interior.
