This novelty caddy dates probably from the early 20th Century rather than the 19th Century.
The paintwork has been refreshed at some point.
The carving of the details of the door are a little crude
There is oxidisation to the underside and wear to the base and to the interior.
Slight lifting of the lid with a small gap.
