After the Antique, probably cast by the Chiurazzi Foundry, Naples, circa 1870, mounted on a Siena marble socle, 59cm high
Estimate: | £1,500 - £2,500 |
Hammer price: | £8,500 |
Condition report:
Overall in good condition.
The dark patination is slightly rough and quite worn with oxidisation in areas. A few spots of verdi oxidisation in small areas.
Dirt and dust.
Socle worn, dirt and general scuffs, chips and knocks.
A metal bracket to the top of the socle is broken, originally securing the bust to the base.
In my opinion the metal bracket has been later added to allow for display on the marble socle
