In a one-piece case with large top glass, the white enamel dial with Roman chapters and oversize seconds subsidiary dial  centred at the XII, blued steel moon hands and inscribed below the VI BREVET D’INVENTION S.G.D.G, the twin train movement with chased platform cylinder escapement, stamped to the backplate JAPY FRERES & CIE / EXPOSITION 1855 / GRANDE MED. D’HONNEUR in an oval, striking the hour and half on a bell

CONDITION REPORT
With a double-ended key.  The clock is ticking.  The strike works.  Dial has a small star crack in bottom right corner.  Top glass has chip to right front corner.  Back door glasses is ‘nibbled’ to edge on top right as well as bottom right and bottom left.  The case has no gilding and is dirty.
