A REGENCY BRASS-MOUNTED EBONISED STRIKING BRACKET CLOCK AND BRACKET

The chamfer top case surmounted by a pineapple finial, above panelled front and convex glazed 8in white-painted dial inscribed GRANT / Fleet Street / LONDON, with finely pierced blued steel hands, a lion mask carrying handle and brass fish-grille panel to each side, on a stepped base, on four brass ball feet, the twin train wire gut fusée movement, signed, with arched shoulders and engraved edge, with anchor escapement and striking the hour on a bell; together with its original bracket 

47cm high the clock; the bracket 19cm overall

John Grant, recorded as working in Fleet Street, was elected to the Clockmaker's Company in 1781, he died in 1810.

CONDITION REPORT
In good original condition.  The movement was running before consignment and appears to have been recently serviced.  The going train front fusée arbour is off-centre in the dial as the pivot-hole is worn and requires rebushing.
