The case with a domed pediment, above a break arch glazed door and glazed sides, the trunk inset with an arched panel door decorated with pavilions and figures, above a stepped base and a plinth; the 12in arched brass dial, signed on a convex roundel Willam Gill, Maidstone, between dolphin spandrels, with silvered chapter ring below and pierced mask spandrels, enclosing a matted centre with seconds subsidiary and calendar aperture, the twin train movement with anchor escapement and strike on a bell

CONDITION REPORT
With steel rod brass bob pendulum, no key and two reproduction brass finials.

The movement is very dirty and will require a full service to function.

The case has been reduced in height at the base at some point.  Later plinth.  Losses to decoration and wear.  The left-hand moulding above the base is loose and present.  The backboard has split at some point and has been reinforced with a later board to the back for stability.  The glass is cracked.  The left side columns have lost their brass capitals, whilst the right-hand columns are both lost entirely.  The bottom edge moulding to the door is lost.  Both the top and base of the door have had wood removed from the back.
