Half title, publisher's advertisement on the verso of the half title, the title printed in red and black, 40-pages of publisher's advertisements at the end dated August 1906 (half title lightly spotted, some very light staining to the margins of the title, small clusters of spotting to the following three leaves and a few others). Original green cloth, the spine lettered and decorated in gilt, top edges gilt, others uncut [see Keating ref.] (some white spotting to the lower cover, corners a little rubbed). Provenance: The Property of a Collector; Iain R. Edgar (modern signature on the front free endpaper). FIRST EDITION of this collection of autobiographical essays.
