Half title, mounted coloured frontispiece and 12 mounted coloured plates by Arthur Rackham, monochrome illustrations, some full-page, one mounted (the half title browned except for a square corresponding to the bookplate on the front pastedown). Original cream pictorial buckram gilt, the top edges gilt, others uncut (the gilt mostly faded or rubbed away, but particularly from the spine, some light staining). Provenance: EDWARD J. POYNTER (bookplate of Sir Edward John Poynter, First Baronet (1836-1919), painter, and President of the Royal Academy from 1896 to 1918). FIRST EDITION.
