Original orange cloth, dust-jacket designed by Barnett Freedman with price of "10s. 6d. net" unclipped (some very minor chipping to the edges of the jacket). FIRST EDITION of the author's first book and the first novel by a black African writer published in English outside of Africa. The dust-jacket of the book is illustrated in its modern protective transparent wrapper which, in light of its exceptionally good condition, we were reluctant to remove for fear of damaging it. The dust-jacket is complete and pristine, with no tears or parts missing. RARE.
