EDE, James (fl.1794-1817).  A View of the Gold and Silver Coins of all Nations, Exhibited In above Four Hundred Copper Plate Engravings correctly executed by an eminent Artist, to which is added in a regular Index, The name, Assay, Weight and Value of Each; Also, Sir Isaac Newton's Tables of Foreign Gold and Silver Coins made in the Year 1700 by order of the Privy Council. [London:] Printed for J. M. Richardson, [1808]. Square 12mo (147 x 137mm). 2 engraved divisional titles, 34 engraved plates of coins, tables (lightly browned and stained throughout, some offsetting, a few mainly marginal stains, wormtracks to last few leaves). Contemporary marbled calf, spine gilt with red morocco lettering-piece, light blue edges. Provenance: "Mem. Amount of the Out turn produce of 100 Ounces of Standard Gold deducting Custom on Coinage ......... Rupees 3880" (old inscription on front free endpaper); old inscriptions to last two plates; Camilla Alexander, 1927 (faint pencil signature on front pastedown). FIRST EDITION. Kress 19688A.
