DECORATIVE FRENCH PAPER AND CLOTH BINDINGS - Les Insectes. [Paris: chez Marcilly Ainé, c. 1825]. One volume (only, of 6), 12mo (148 x 95mm). Hand-coloured wood-engraved frontispiece. Original yellow papers boards, the upper cover elaborately decorated in blind with an oval coloured pictorial label mounted at the centre. Originally the book was one of 6 volumes included in the series "Musée des Dames et des Demoiselles. Règne Animal" and contained in a pictorial book box. cf. Gumuchian 4232. With c. 30 other books of the same period in decorative paper and cloth bindings, often with mounted illustrations, together with a small group of chromolithographed Catholic devotional items.
