DICKENS, Charles (1812-70).  [Works]. London: Chapman and Hall, [c. 1880]. 30 volumes, 8vo (186 x 120mm). Wood-engraved plates (some light mainly marginal spotting and staining). Attractively bound in contemporary half calf, spines gilt with green morocco lettering-pieces (3 spines not quite uniform [i.e. skilfully repaired], spines a little faded, extremities rubbed). "Library edition." With Walter Scott's The Waverley Novels (London, 1901, 25 vols., plates, contemporary half roan) and Thomas Carlyle's [Works] (London, 1896-98, 20 vols., modern tan leatherette). Please note that only a part of this lot is illustrated. The lot sold as a set of bindings, not subject to return. (75)
