Attractively bound in contemporary half calf, spines gilt with green morocco lettering-pieces (3 spines not quite uniform [i.e. skilfully repaired], spines a little faded, extremities rubbed). "Library edition." With Walter Scott's The Waverley Novels (London, 1901, 25 vols., plates, contemporary half roan) and Thomas Carlyle's [Works] (London, 1896-98, 20 vols., modern tan leatherette).
