Modern buckram-backed marbled boards (inner hinges broken). Provenance: L. H. Bradford (signature on front free endpaper); "To Mr Wardle who likes cats large and small, L. B." (inscription beneath signature). The title page calls for "thirty-eight plates, coloured, and numerous wood-cuts; with memoir of Cuvier." With H. A. F. Lindsay and C. M.
