LEE, Laurie (1914-97).  Cider with Rosie. London: The Hogarth Press, 1959. 8vo (197 x 130mm). Half title, frontispiece and full-page illustrations by John Ward. Original green buckram, spine lettered in gilt, dust-jacket designed by John Ward with price of 18s. unclipped (a few short tears without significant loss, some fraying and creasing to lower wrapper). FIRST EDITION, first impression, with "There was a fire at the piano-works almost every year, it seemed to be a way of balancing the books" on p.272. This passage, for which the author was threatened with a libel action, was suppressed in later printings. With 2 other books by the same author, namely We Made A Film in Cyprus.
